Chief Executive Officer / Principal Consultant

Syed Ali, our Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant, brings a wealth of expertise in the renewable energy sector, backed by a Master's degree in Engineering with a specialization in Green & Renewable Energy from the University of Waterloo, Canada. As a licensed Professional Engineer with over two decades of experience, Syed is a distinguished solar PV expert with a proven track record in engineering design, project management, and technical support.

His extensive international exposure spans Asia, North America, Africa, and Europe, encompassing a wide range of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, biofuel, and geothermal. Syed's remarkable portfolio includes the design, planning, and project management of over 3,000 MW of solar PV projects in locations such as the UAE, Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, USA, Singapore, Kenya, Ghana, Namibia, Vietnam, and Norway. Currently serving as the project manager for the KfW-funded 50MW floating PV hybridization study in Ghana, Syed Ali remains at the forefront of renewable energy innovation.

After concluding a transformative four-year tenure as Chairman of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) in Pakistan, Mr. Farooqi brings a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking vision to the renewable energy landscape.

Under his leadership at NEPRA, Mr. Farooqi orchestrated groundbreaking initiatives, including the introduction of the Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP), the Transmission System Expansion Plan (TSEP), and the deregulation of the wholesale market through Competitive Trading Contracts Bilateral Market.

An accomplished Electrical Engineer with an MBA from prestigious engineering (UET) and business (LUMS) institutions in Pakistan, Mr. Farooqi further honed his skills through Columbia Business School's renowned Executive Program in Management, Strategy, and Leadership.

Professional Journey:

With a professional journey spanning 31 years, Mr. Farooqi's career commenced at Pakistan's Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA), followed by a pivotal role in the UK-based International Power. Notably, he significantly contributed to Pakistan's major privatized power plant, the Kot Addu Plant.

International Expertise:

Mr. Farooqi extended his expertise to Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he played a key role in the development of pivotal projects, including Taweelah A2, Shuweihat S1, and Taweelah B Plants, spanning two decades.

Visionary Contributions:

His visionary approach prioritized social uplift, corporate social responsibility (CSR), health, safety, and environmental (HSE) concerns, cybersecurity, and industry-academia linkages.

Academic Contribution:

Beyond his leadership roles, Mr. Farooqi is contributing to academia as a distinguished Professor of Practice at Sir Syed CASE Institute of Technology, imparting invaluable real-world insights to empower future professionals.
